The Galena Chamber of Commerce was organized at a meeting of merchants on February 2, 1838 and though it has not been a continuous existence, a business organization in one form or another has been in Galena since that time. The Chamber is focused on promoting the economic welfare of the business community and contributing to the Galena area's quality of life.
Visit Galena is a new organization recognized as the official destination marketing organization for the City of Galena. As a 501 (c) 6, the organization's primary objective is to increase the benefit of travel and tourism for the local community.

The Galena Art & Recreation Center is a non-profit educational and charitable organization. Galena Art & Recreation Center was formed on July 10, 1967 to promote community program activities in arts, crafts, sports and recreation for people of all ages. The center has been serving the people of Jo Daviess County with over 50 major programs each year.
The Galena Foundation was formed more than 25 years ago by a group of Galenians wishing to preserve Galena and its heritage and history. Today, a nine-member board of directors is guided by The Foundation's mission to initiate and/or provide financial support for community projects which preserve, enhance or nurture Galena’s heritage, culture and quality of life.
